![]() We both really liked Christchurch city, even though most travels dismiss it. First trip to the net, facebook update "arrived in Christchurch etc" brought Steph straight to our door.modern technology eh? The Glow-worm cave was truly magnificent, it made the tiring trek through the cave totally worthwhile.Īrriving in Christchurch we set up home in a nice city centre hostel, just off Cathedral square. With two feet safely on the Cave grounds I enjoyed exploring the caves with our tour guide Steve from Rip, Rock & Raft. We spent a chilly evening warming our bones in the natural hot spring baths of our campervan park.such a tough life!! On advice from fellow travellers we booked ourselves in for a trip to the Waitomo Caves, like all of our adventures we opted for the afternoon slot.no worms for catching here!! The afternoon slot had no other takers so it was a Duffy Cave tour extravaganza.! The 30 ft abseil into the caves proved simple for Ciara the Spiderwoman Duffy and little more TERRIFYING for Aoife the Scaredy Cat Duffy. ![]() With Ciara alive & in one piece, we headed off to Rotorua for a sniff & a peek at the hot springs. Yesterday, very brave lady!! Last few days in New Zealand, lots to fit inīefore we go.India on Saturday, 30degrees at 7am.delightful!! Over our few days in Wellington we visited the amazing Te Papa Mesuem, where we seen the famous squid (which kinda freaked me out!), went to a play at the Circa Theatre (who said the Duffy's weren't a cultured people?), had a spin on the Wellington Cable Car and got our Hep A& B boosts (eeek). We spent our first evening on the North Island tucking into a delicious Indian meal (first introduction to Butter Chicken.yum) and catching up with Dave our friend from Commerce. Arriving in Wellington we drove to the only camper-site accessible to the city centre, we arrived just before rush hour so the motor-ways weren't too difficult to negotiate. We caught the ferry from Picton after a stop off for delicious breakfast muffins.YUM! The 3hour crossing was very smooth, great views from the upper decks, lucky to get a lovely clear day.
